Pre-Colombian Art Museum 


This museum is located at Nazarenas square in the Downtown of the city; it is dedicated to the former Peruvian culture arts. The museum saves an impressive collection composed by over 450 art work amongst jewelry Gold, jewels made from bone, pottery and shells. The museum has also thematic rooms from the formative time and cultures as Nazca, Mochica, Huari, Chimú, Chancay. Besides, there are Inca Special exhibition room for sculptures made in wood and an exhibition room for Colonial painting. When you enter into the Pre-Colombian Art Museum, you are presented with its guiding philosophy: to take the relics of the past and display them as works of art they once were. It is an art gallery. You can visit the museum every day from 9:00 to 22:00. Admissin costs S/. 15 ($5) for adults and S/. 7.50 ($2.5) for students.

Inca Museum of the National University San Antonio Abad del Cusco


This Museum is located at Cuesta Almirante Street and hosts a collection of pre-hispanic items like funeral metallurgy, stonework, textiles, mummies and pottery. Also colonial paintings and sculpture. It is one of the best Incan Museums in the World.


Pre-Colombian Peruvian Skulls

Casa Cabrera (Cabrera House)


The Cabrera House is one of the main cultural places in the city. This house was constructed in the XVII century over the ancient Amaru Cancha, which was a beautiful Incan palace. The museum saves a permanent collection of photography of Martín Chambi the most famous local photographer, whose work dates from 1920 to 1950. The museum has also exhibitions of local artists and an invaluable coin collection. The museum is located at 231 Nazarenas square in the downtown. Admission is free.


Casa Garcilazo


This is one the most ancient colonial buildings in the city; it belonged to the famous writer Inca Garcilazo de la Vega, author of the “Comentarios Reales de los Incas”, which was the first book written by a Peruvian man. Inside the house, it can find a completely collection of Incan textilesa and pottery as well as gold and silver pieces. In addition to, there is a exhibition of Cusqueñan Art. Garcilazo’s house is situated at Heladeros Street in the Downtown. Admission is included in the tourist ticket.


Hilario Mendivil Museum


This private museum saves a permanent collection of the famous artist Hilario Mendivil, whose sculptures have a unique style, which is admired in the entire world. The museum and workshop is located at 634 San Blas square in the artistic neighborhood of San Blas.


Archbishop Palace


It is located in the famous Hatun Rumiyoq Street the same street where it is the 12 angle stone, which is part of the building’s walls, which was the palace of Inca Roca during the Incan period. This museum saves a great collection of religious art, which includes jewelry, canvases and sculptures.


Santa Catalina Museum

 

This museum is located at 190 “Santa catalina Angosta” street inside the former Santa Catalina convent. The museum hosts a collection of paintings of the prestigious Art School of Cusco as well as several sculptures like “El Señor de los temblores” and “Santa catalina”. Admission costs S/. 10.

Museum of the La Merced Convent, colonial jewelry and painting, located at "Espinar" Square.

Museum of Qoricancha temple ,pre-hispanic and colonial items, located at "Sol" Avenue.

Museum of Contemporary Art, contemporary works of arts, located in the Municipal Palace at "Regocijo" square.

Cathedral Museum, religious art, located at Plaza de Armas (main square).

Museum of Natural Sciences, local fauna and vegetation, located in the San Antonio Abad University at "Cultura" Avenue.

San Jerónimo Museum colonial painting, located at "San Jerónimo" Square in the "San Jerónimo" district.

Museum of the American Art institute, popular art, located into the "Tourist Galeries" at "Sol" Avenue.
