Monteverde is located to 84º46’ W long, 10º15 N lat at north of Costa Rica in Punta Arenas province; so your climate is tropical. Your climate has three seasons: wet season (from May to October), transitional (from November to January) and dry season (February to April).


The local climate is influenced by the four factors: intertropical Convergence Zone, the polar cold fronts, the Pacific low-pressure systems and nearby tropical depressions. These factors generate the cloudy, misty and humid climate of Monteverde and allow to the cloudy forest to survive.


The annual average temperature is 17.2ºC (48.3ºF). Being the maximum and minimum temperatures 25.7ºC (72.28ºF) and 13.6ºC (38.25ºF) respectively. The rate of rain during the wet season is 1715mm3 with 71% of annual precipitation.


The mean relative humidity is 91% and the maximum and minimum instantaneous relatives are 99% and 55% respectively.


The average of solar radiation is 170 W/m2 and the average wind   speed is 1.8 m/s, being the maximum  4.7 m/s approximately
