The city has a lot of fun places to go out. It exists a great variety of clubs, discos, bars, theaters and restaurants, these places are mainly in the neighborhoods like “Bellavista”, “Brasil”, “Bellas Artes””Calle Suecia” and “Plaza Ñuñoa”.
“Barrio Brasil” could be named “Bohemian Promised Land”; this neighborhood consists of small nucleus with a great number of bars on “Brasil” avenue and some other dive for the Plaza. The action in the place begins since 20:00 before the place seem as ghost town. Only some Cafes and several theaters completed the scene. But at night the situation is absolutely different, the bars are seen absolutely full and boisterous.

The best days for the nightlife in Santiago are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, since these days different Cafes and Bars open until over the midnight and offer shows on live music.
Several newspapers like “El Mercurio” or “La Tercera” publish daily movie listings and Friday weekend supplements. If you speak Spanish the theatre in Santiago is a very good option, there are some good theater in Bellavista that offer contemporary productions and comedies.
Santiago’s clubs usually received people between 18 and 35 years old. They are full at midnight and open until 6:00; if you want to dance salsa, should try clubs like “Habana Salsa” (Dominica 142) or “Heaven” (Recoleta 345). But if you like electronic music, in Santiago currently there many parties of this kind, you must review entertainments sections of newspapers.

The opera in the “Teatro Municipal” and the shows of the national Chilean Ballet also are good spectacles. Some times the “Estadio Nacional”(National stadium) or the “Estacion Mapocho” become great scenes for concerts of mega bands like Rolling Stones, Robbie Williams, Soda Stereo and important local bands like Jaibas, Inti illimani, Los Prisioneros, and others. You could find listings for these shows in newspapers.
Santiago offers also a wide variety of cinemas like Cinemark, Cinehots among others, in where you can see mainly the last films of Hollywood.
