Sucre | The school | Courses | Accommodation | Price list | Photo gallery

The city and the surrounding zones are  celebrated for their handicrafts which are exhibited mainly the Sundays , The Tarabuco’s market that is situated  to 56 Km/35 miles from Sucre City is a good place to start the shopping .There you will can find a great diversity of textiles, hats , pullovers, bags and others things hand-woven.

This typically   Bolivian market is one of more important in the country. All Sunday mornings, the buses leave from Sucre towards Tarabuco   between 7:00 and 9:00; the bus stop is situated at the corner of “Las Americas” avenue and “Manco Capac” street. The ride lasts one hour half and costs approximately $2.00. In the market you usually could pay by cash. The credit cards use it few here.

You also can do shopping at the “Museo de Arte Indigena (ASUR)” this museum offer the best textile selection of Sucre and one of the best of Bolivia. Other markets are “Artesanias Sucre”, “Tesoros del Inca”  and “Central Market”.

If you are American or European; probably the Bolivian prices could be ridiculously lows for you but Bolivia is considered   the poorest country of South America. This characteristic is a great advantage if you would want to do shopping in Sucre. Dollars and Euros exchange is very easy at all the city.
