The Textile-Ethnographic Museum (ASUR)
This museum has got a great native art collection including old typical clothes of the Inca and Tarabuco cultures. The acronym ASUR means Anthropologists of Andean South. The museum owns amazing pieces of art, the majority of them are textiles. The work of museum is the preservation of the local culture.
In addition to viewing theworks of art ,the tourist can see the artists while they make their pieces of art in the workshops using ancient techniques for washing and spinning the wool. The museum is located at 413 of “San Alberto” street. If you go to Sucre, you must go to ASUR.

La Recoleta Museum
In the XVI century this building served as a Franciscan convent.The buliding was turned museum in 1972.The ancient convent has anonymous paintings from the XVI to XX centuries. In addition to the art pieces you can see the ancient barracks and the prison of the convent.
The museum is located in “Pedro Anzures “ square and opening from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 12:00 and 15:00 to 18:00
Ethnography and Folklore National Museum (MUSEF)
Opening to the people since February 16th , 2004 ; the museum works in a building yielded for the “Banco Central de Bolivia” (Bolivia’s Central Bank) . There are actually two expositions into the museum’s halls : “Mascaras memoria y diversidad” a collection of the different mask’s types of Bolivia and “Cultura Uru-Chipaya” .
The MUSEF have got also a great video library and a ethnological documentation center. The museum open from Tuesday to Saturday since 9:30 till 12:30 in the mornings and since 15:00 till 19:00 in the evenings ,besides also the Sundays from 9:30 to 12:30.
Charcas Museum
This museum displays mainly works of the local artist Melchor Perez de Holguin and handcrafts made for Bolivian natives. Besides, it exists in the museum a collection of furniture .The building is located at 628 of “Bolivar” street.
Santa Clara Museum
It is Located in the ancient “Santa Clara” convent. Into the it Biti and Montufar paintings are exhibited as well as anonymous sculptures , musical instruments and liturgical objects .
