There are many traditional and typical dishes. Two of the most popular are: "la salteña" and "el chorizo chuquisaqueño". The "salteña" is made with a sweet pastry and refill with meat of cow or chicken, vegetables, potatoes  and chilli pepper, that’s why it is a bit spicy or hot. You can eat it anytime, but Sucre's people eat it mostly during the morning.


El chorizo chuquisaqueño is a big and spicy sausage and it’s served with bread, lettuce and tomato. You can eat it also during the morning.




At the same time you will find many others special and typical dishes in Tarabuco’s market, just at 60 kilometres from Sucre. Meals like the  "picante de pollo" made of chicken with pasta, cheese and some vegetables is really very tastyd, it is call "picante" because has chilli pepper, so it is a spicy dish.

 

Others typical meals are: “Aji de palomitas”(red pepper of wheat and maize burst with pope and meta)s, the “Chanfaina”( stew of lamb with potatoes, the “Fritanga”  ribs op pig cooked with pepper and onion), the “Jolke” (kidney of cow cooked in thick sauce of red pepper and white Pope), the ”K’arapecho”,chest of head of cattle in fried cured meat and with cooked maize, the “Menudito” (soup of pig,cow,and chicken’s meat with maiz)e, the ”Mondongo chuquisaqueño”( ribs of pig fried and cooked in red pepper colored with mote of maize cooked with pig leather), the ”Popesitos”( roasted meat and popes),the "Sullka"( cattle’s meat to the grill with maize).


In addition to you will can enjoy traditional drinks like “Ajenjo”, ”Cerveza Chanchito” traditional beer stout , “Chicha de Padilla” delicious “chicha” of maize bottled in that town. “Misteals” licor of fruits macerated in alcohol.

 

If you are vegetarian we have also typical dishes without meat, they are also delicious. But if you don’t like the typical meals ,then you can go to  international food restaurants in where you will find a great variety of international meals like hamburgers, pizzas, chickens, etc.
