Weather in Cordoba
The province has a privileged climate since it is located at north of Argentina near of the equatorial line. These conditions can only described as “Mediterranean”. Whereas the eastern borderline is 480 Km away from the Atlantic Ocean and the western edge is 520 km from the Pacific Ocean. The summer season has warm days but at night the temperature is pleasant. In winter the climate is dry and it never gets badly cold. The average temperatures fluctuate between 16º C and 17º C. Temperatures during all the year could vary within a range between 14 and 15º C.
The rate of rain hardly surpasses 500 mm3 by year. During the summer the average rate of rain can arrive until the 800 mm3. Nevertheless the north western zone of province has rain levels minors, which hardly exceed the mark of 200 mm3 by year. The winds of East and West are short lived and weak. Whereas south and northeast winds start to blow during the month of September which increase their strength while a nucleus of cyclonic depression gets defined on the Antarctic.
Often there are strong storms during the summer, which are accompanied of rains and electric storms. Sunshine isn’t unusual during the summer.
It exits a great variety of local climates and microclimates that explain the reason why Cordoba has been the major tourist center of Argentina since XIX century.
