Spanish in Argentina

Argentina holds a unique position among Latin American countries. It has the second-largest landmass in South America, and the makeup of its population is quite different from the rest of the continent. The country's nearly 37,000,000 inhabitants are largely descendant from Spaniards, Italians, Germans and other Europeans.
A very small percentage of Argentina's population consists of mestizo and indigenous peoples, but you can find them in the northern Jujuy province amongst fascinating archeological sites, volcanoes, small Indian villages and nature reserves.
This is one Latin American country where Europeans and North Americans can feel at ease and travel relatively inconspicuously. An interest in soccer and some nimble foot skills may be all you need to feel like a local.
The type of Spanish spoken in Argentina is of a beautiful variety, more sing-songy than Spain's Spanish, and contains other peculiarities such as the use of the vos form. Argentina contains endless possibilities for learning and discovering landscapes, people and cultural curiosities you never would have imagined.
