Founded by Tsar Peter on 1703 and considered the cultural heart of modern day Russia, St. Petersburg is located in Northwestern Federal District of Russia and it is the one of the largest cities in Europe. It is a beautiful city with many attractions all of which makes St. Petersburg more evocative of Russia's past than any place except perhaps the Moscow Kremlin.

 About St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg was founded by Tsar Peter the Great on May 27, 1703 as a “window on Europe”, it’s located in Northwestern Federal District of Russia on the delta of the Neva River at the east end of the Gulf of Finland. It served as the capital of the Russian Empire for 200 years and ceased being it in 1918 when the government moved to Moscow after Russian Revolution of 1917.

St. Petersburg is a really beautiful city; it combines its fascinating Russian heritage with a distinctly European outlook and is considered the cultural heart of modern day Russia. St. Petersburg offers so many stunning attractions and intriguing moods; from the vibrant colors of spring, through the sunny summer days and endless twilights of the famous White Nights, the brilliant golden sun of autumn and to top theater and ballet productions and concerts on magical winter evenings.

It’s the second-largest city of Russia and one of largest cities of Europe, a major European cultural center, and the second most important Russian port on the Baltic Sea. St. Petersburg is sometimes referred to as "The Northern Capital". The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it offers a vibrant cultural life and is rapidly regaining its reputation as one of the Great Cities of Europe.
