Lisbon like most great capitals of the world has an endless quantity of stores from giant and modern malls to traditional shops, where it can find almost every thing that exists in the planet. Some of the best articles in Lisbon are leather items (jackets, shoes, handbags, etc), copper ware, embroidered linen, crystal, hand painted tiles, excellent pottery, exquisite carpets, filigree and cheap jewelry. Besides, Portugal has also excellent wines and others liquors like the famous “Porto”, most of them are quite cheap, compared to France or Italy.

A great zone to buy in Lisbon is the pedestrian area between “Praça do Comércio” (Trade square) and “Largo S. Domingos”; since this zone hosts several famous international brands. But, the most expensive zone to buy in the city is located along “Avenida da Liberdade”, where it can find the most exclusive stores of Lisbon.

The best tourist stores are located near “Saint George Castle” and in the “Bairro Alto” neighborhood, near “Rua Dom Pedro V”. There are also many stores in the Downtown near streets like "Rua Aurea”, “Rua da Prata” or the famous “Rua Augusta”, where it can get excellent pieces of jewelry.

There are also many malls in Lisbon, one of the most famous is “miss Colombo”, which is also one of the biggest in Europe and the greatest in the Iberian peninsula. This new and impressive mall is located in a new suburb very near a great football stadium. The building’s architecture is very nice; it is composed by a large central courtyard and a marvel glass roof. All floors of the building have stores; in addition to behind the courtyard, there are two concentric rings of stores that include a big super market.

Handicrafts in Portugal usually are very exotic and beautiful, because of the great skill of the local artisans and the various influences received by Portugal from its colonies, during the “Discover Age”.
