Sao Paulo is definitely the best city to buy anything in Brazil. If you don’t find something in Sao Paulo, that means that doesn’t exist in Brazil. Sao Paulo city offers from small crafts stores to famous international fashion boutiques.

 

A good place to start your shopping is “Bras”; it is a whole district at east of the city, where there are an endless number of stores There, it can find great textile products, like clothes, blouses, jeans and much more. Besides, prices in this place are very reasonable; for example you can get a dozen blouses for the same price that would spend for two in a boutique.

 

Other place, where it can find a great variety of items very cheaper is “25 de Março” street. Here, it can get almost everything, but this zone is chaotic and can be dangerous. Nevertheless, it is worth visiting because of the excellent prices.

Another shopping zone in Sao Paulo is “Jardins” which has high-end fashions boutiques. These boutiques are located mainly at “Augusta” street and “Haddock Lobo” street. This area is packed with many stores of national and international brands as well as jewelry, gourmet food, and expensive luxurious gift shops. “Oscar Freire” street is also an important trade center of Sao Paulo. This famous street is the “Madison avenue” or the “Rodeo Drive” of Sao Paulo, it is the place to see and to be see; this street hosts stores of famous brands like Armani, Timberland, Diesel amongst other.

 

Sao Paulo offers also many important malls like Higienopolis, a new mall located in the richest zone of the city. This mall owns a crystal entrance of Victorian style. Most of stores in this mall are exclusive boutiques. It is located at 615 “Higienopolis” avenue.

Another elegant and exclusive mall in Sao Paulo is Iguatemi, which is located at 2232 “Brigadeiro faria Lima” avenue near the “Jardim Paulistano”. This mall hosts important brands like Louis Vuitton, Bally, Tiffanys, etc. Besides, this place has also a great movie theatre and several restaurants on the top floor.

 

But, if you are looking for handicrafts, there are also many handicrafts stores in Sao Paulo, where it can find high quality works. One of these places is Art India, this store located at 1371 “Augusta” street offer nice handicrafts like wooden spoons, bowls, pottery and baskets made by Brazilian tribes from the Amazon jungle.

 

If you want to see a traditional Brazilian market, the best place is the “Municipal Market” of the city, which is situated in the Sao Paulo’s Downtown, very near “Estado” avenue. There, it can find all ingredients of Brazilian food; in addition to, this market has a beautiful architecture that is worth visiting.

 

Most places in Sao Paulo accepts credit cards and travel checks, nevertheless several small stores accepts only cash payments. Usually stores open from 9:00 to 18:00, but malls open from 10:00 to 22:00.

Mile Foglie, wide variety of books, 3542 “Consolaçao” street.

Artevital, art pieces, 1398 “Haddock Lobo” street.
