Weather in Salvador da Bahia

Salvador da Bahia has a tropical weather; as most coastal cities in Brazil, whose temperatures range between warm and hot; with high humidity rates during all year.  Nevertheless, Salvador rarely suffers extreme temperatures thanks to the refreshing breezes blowing from the ocean. The highest temperatures occurs in summer mainly March, when they can reach 30ºC (86ºF). The coolest month is July when in the southern hemisphere is winter, but the temperature during this time decreases only until 19ºC(68ºF) as minimum.

Nevertheless, usually temperatures in the city fluctuates between 22ºC(72ºF) and 28ºC(82ºF), being the annual average temperature 27ºC (81ºF).

The annual rainfall rate is 2010 mm (80 inches), being the wet season between April and July mainly.

There are not tropical storms or hurricanes in the zone. The rates of humidity fluctuate between 60 and 80% depending of the season of the year and the hour of the day.

The best time to visit Salvador da Bahia is in summer, but it is also the high season to the tourists; therefore, most hotels are crowded and the prices increases. But, the former capital of the Portuguese empire in America is worth visiting in any time.
