There are many buildings of architectonical interest and maybe the most important is Paolina’s Palace or just Palazzo Paolina.

Palazzo Paolina

The Palazzo Paolina was built in honour of Paolina Bonaparte and nowadays is the site of two museums. Shelley’s monument has a romantic flavour in the piazza of the same name, and in his honour the citizens erected this monument.

Palazzo Belluomini

In fact the building started to be famous for Pope Pio VII who was accommodated here before he went to France like a prisoner of Napoleon III. The summer residence had a small theatre for entertaining the noble proprietors and their friends.

Palazzo Bernardini

The Palazzo was built in 18th century and is called equal as the public square. The beautiful historical palaces are a certain architectural interest and it was built as a summer residence for the noble Bernardini family of Lucca. Definitely is not possible to visit the palace’s interiors just the exteriors which are worthy to visit.

Palazzo della Citadella

Pallazzo della Citadella was built in 18th century and now is the site of a prestigious hotel where Alessandro Manwni and Giuseppe Giusti stayed.
