Siena Parks

A public garden located in front of the Forte di Santa Barbara along its fountain. The area inside the Fortress, Piazza della Liberta is used for recreational activities, festivals and summer film series. You can enjoy from the height of the Fortress bastions of beautiful Siena views and surrounding fields. Also the Fortress is home of the Enoteca Italiana which sponsors exhibitions, events and conferences on wine all over the world.

Lizza Park, Siena

Orto de’ Pecci is a peaceful spot with fabulous views of the Torre del Mangia and the Piazza del Mercato. You can enjoy of the aroma of lavender, rosemary and Tuscan countryside plants while you walking into this area. Pecci Garden was built between 1326 and 1420, is the center of Falconry shows and one of the most well preserved green spaces of Medieval Siena. Today, the walls enclose green areas between Porta Romana and Porta Pipsini.

The origins of Botanical Garden date back from the 17th century, when the Ortodei Semplici of the Santa Maria della Scala hospital was used for cultivation plants with medicinal properties. Then in 1856 the garden was moved to its current location.

Botanical Garden, Siena

The Park of Remembrance is located close to the Piazza de Campo and it’s one of the favourites green areas of Siena. It offers entertainment for children including benches of water, labyrinth of hedges and the Barberi, a game with wooden balls. Children of all ages gather here as the park has plentiful and varied play areas. There is also a roller skating rink which is a popular local attraction. In addition each tree in the park was planted in memory of a victim killed in WWI.
