Munich Cuisine


One German saying says "Food and drink keep body and soul". So, Munich is home to many bars, cafés, and restaurants; accessible for every taste and wallet size. The cuisine of the Bavarian State Capital capitalizes on abundant natural resources and appropriate weather to produce incomparable gastronomic delight. Munich cuisine is mainly meat based and especially around Pork, potatoes and cabbage; there are available a huge of variety of sausages but a distant relationship to vegetables.
Weisswurst

Weisswurst is the pride of Munich, it is a white veal sausage which is usually eaten with sweet mustard and soft, doughy Breazn before noon. Traditionally, it is eaten with a cloudy, slightly fruity wheat beer called Weissbier. Eat a Weisswurst is a must for everyone who likes meat.
Laberkäse
Laberkäse (or Liver cheese) is another local favorite, it is a smooth, delicate pork Pate made with onion, garlic and eggs. It is served warm and in thick slabs. It is delicious with rye bread and mustard.
Other wonderful dishes include Schweinebraten mit Knödel (Roast Pork with Dumpling), Hendl (Chicken) sold roasted in halves or whole and Schweinshax'n (Pork Knuckles). To accompany all this, common side dishes like boiled potatoes (Kartoffeln), or sauerkraut (sour cabbage) are served.
