There are hundreds of museums in New York. The Big Apple offers something for everyone, from a real aircraft carrier museum “the Intrepid” to the smaller more intimate Frick Collection all the way up to the grand-daddy of all New York museums, the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Metropolitan Museum of Art



Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the pre-eminent cultural institutions in the world. Its collection now contains more than two million works of art from all parts of the world, ancient through modern times with an enormous collection that includes Egyptian, Greek and Roman art and artifacts; European and American paintings, sculpture and decorative arts; 20th century art, Asian and Middle-Eastern art and antiquities; arms and armor; musical instruments; and textiles. In addition, the museum has hundreds of world famous masterpieces.


Museum of Modern Art



The Museum of Modern Art is dedicated to being the foremost museum of modern art in the world. Founded in 1929 as an educational institution, with eight prints and one drawing which were an initial gift. Now its collection has grown to include more than 100,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, architectural models and drawings, and design objects. MOMA also owns some 19,000 films and four million film stills, as well as 140,000 books, artist books, and periodicals.


American Museum of Natural History



The museum is one of the largest and most innovative natural history museums. It includes famous dinosaur halls, Akeley Hall of African Mammals, Gottesman Hall of Planet Earth, and the new Rose Centre featuring the most technologically advanced Space Show in the world.


Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum - New York

Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum



Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum is one of the most successful, battle-tested ships in U.S. history. It consists of diverse sea, air and space exhibits. Walk the decks of the historic aircraft carrier, tour a submarine and a destroyer, and experience an F-18 mission. Together with the destroyer U.S.S.Edson, the guided missile submarine U.S.S.Growler and over twenty-five aircraft visitors are treated to an inside look of life at sea, past, present and future.


Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum



In honour of its founder Solomon R. Guggenheim, is called with the same name and is known as much for its building design as it is for its content. Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece of modern architecture is home to the world-renowned Guggenheim collection of modern and contemporary art that includes masterpieces by Chagall, Kandinsky, Picasso, and Van Gogh, as well as special exhibitions. The building opened in 1959.


Frick Collection



Frick collection is a place where you will see a top-notch art collection whether you don’t have lots of time, this is the perfect place to go. The mansion is a breathtaking art collection in a luxurious setting which includes paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, and particularly Renaissance through 19th century, including Rembrant, Titian, Vermeer, and Whistler among others.
