Sports and Activities
There is a number of sports and activities that can be practiced in Gozo, most of them are based aroud the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. There are many water sports and activities available in Gozo beaches and the surrounding cities, such as rock climbing with steep rock faces overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the views are the major reason to try this sport. Other water sports can be practiced in Gozo are parasailing, jet skiing, water skiing, sea kayaking and scuba diving.
Scuba Diving in Gozo
It is possible to try scuba diving in Gozo as well as the neighboring Malta and Comino all the year round. There are a lot of diving opportunities which explore reefs, caves, ship wrecks and more; making it a wonderful and unforgettable experience. There are various dive shops around the island offering dive instructions and certification; many of them offer complete PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) dive courses guarantying expert tuition. During winter many fish move inshore to shallower, slightly warmer water and aren’t disturbed by the presence of swimmers, it shows a stunning panorama and a great opportunity for taking extraordinary photos.

Gozo was blessed with a variety of wonderful dive sites; there are also a lot of sites in Malta and Comino. Most of the sites usually had 30 meters of visibility. Here are some of them:

Um El Faroud
Location: Wied Iz Zurrieq, near Qrendi (location of the Blue Grotto). 240 degrees from entry point

Depth: 12 metres (40 feet) to top of the funnel, 25 metres (82 feet) to lowest deck, 36 metres (118 feet) to sea floor
