English in Gozo

Gozo also was known as Ogygia is an island of the Maltese Archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, located to 4 miles northwest of Malta and ½ mile north of the smaller island of Comino across the north Camino channel. It is the second largest after the island of Malta itself, and more rural and known for its scenic hills, which feature on its coat of arms. The Island is easily reachable by car ferry from Valletta or Cirkewwa on Malta. A popular name of Gozo is the Isle of Calypso, where the Greek hero Ulysses spent seven years on the island.

 About Gozo 





Life there moves at a leisurely pace, and its rhythms are dictated by the seasons, with a rugged landscape less developed, more fertile with green valleys and step, and beautiful coastline just crying out for exploration. The largest city is Victoria that locals called Rabat, has a good selection of local and tourist shops as well as a colorful. All villages are gradually expanding, however, especially those near the ports of Xlendi and Marsalforn.

Some popular activities include rock swimming, fishing and water sports, but other beaches facilities are very limited. By night Gozo offers bars and a few discos, and the larger hotels offer barbecues and entertainment. But you can find and choice between several restaurants, from burgers to pizzerias, with a choice of quality harbor front restaurants.

Gozo also is a good destination for who likes of the history and culture, there is located good places as Museum of Archaeology, a good place to being exploring Gozo, which illustrates the cultural history of Gozo from prehistoric times to the early modern era. Ghantija Temple consists in two massive megaliths were carved into temples by the pre-Phoenician Gozitans somewhere between 4,100 BC and 2,500 BC, and now stand on the island as mysterious monuments to a bygone age. Caves of Xaghra are an important place in Greek mythology, which feature stalactites and stalagmites, particularly the Calypso Cave. Dwejra, with its seclude pebbled bathing pool and crystal clear water; it is an area with strange rock formations causing interesting swimming holes. And Marsalforn that is a tiny fishing village on the north coast of Gozo has become the island’s most popular summer resort.
