Cannizaro Park - Wimbledon

Cannizaro Park

Cannizaro Park is located to the west of Cannizaro House and Common Westside; it is bounded by Dunstall Road, the Royal Wimbledon Golf Course and the allotments off camp Road. It opens as a public park in 1949 and currently it boasts gardens such as a sunken Garden, Azalea Dell, Water Garden, Italian Garden, Mediterranean Garden and Rose Garden.

It has a collection of rare trees and magnificent plants and shrubs which provides both a horticultural resource and an area for pleasant walks, picnics and family get-togethers.

Wimbledon Park

Close to the All England Lawn Tennis Club is a large green area of land. The focus of the park is on recreation and sport, it having been designed as a place for local townspeople to exercise in the fresh air and amongst nature. The park has a variety of sporting facilities available to the public including a yachting lake, floodlit tennis courts, football pitches, an athletic track, a small stadium and a running track. The park is also used for people to walk, to cycle or just to relax on a sunny day.

Garrat Park

For many generations the park has been used as a traditional place of rest and relaxation both local people and visitors to the area. It is a large urban green space on the edge of Wimbledon; it has sports pitches in the centre which accommodate winter and summer sports.

Merton Riverside Walk

One of the most popular attractions is the river that runs through the area, although apart from the numerous parks and gardens. It has a path down and is popular with walkers and runners as well as those who enjoy fishing.

Morden Hall Park

One of the few places that south Londoners can feel completely at one with nature, an oasis of calm on the southern boundary of Greater London, which is maintained by the National Trust. The park has acres of unspoilt land consisting of woodland, marshes, lakes and rose gardens. There is also an artist in residence living in the park as well as an old Snuff Mill.
