Sydney is renowned for its excellent surfing beaches and with its warm climate, attracts people to the beaches almost all year round. There are also some popular beaches along the harbour foreshores that don't have any surf including Redleaf, Nielsen Park, Parsley Bay and Camp Cove as like some less accessible nudist beaches such as Lady Jane and Obelisk.

Palm Beach - Sydney

Palm Beach

Palm Beach is famous for its connection with the TV series and is colloquially known as 'Palmy'. It home to a number of parks and sporting areas, including part of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. The Careel Bay Ovals Sporting Complex includes facilities for rugby league, soccer and tennis.

Palm Beach also has a golf club, sailing club, surf school and two surf lifesaving clubs. The North Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club is a set for television soap opera Home and Away and has 'Summer Bay Surf Club' painted on the beach side.

Clovelly Beach

Clovelly is good for children as it has some shelter. Clovelly Beach is a small beach that sits on the end of the narrow bay. The bay is popular with swimmers. The bay is home to one of the first surf lifesaving clubs in the world, Clovelly Surf Life Saving Club, which was founded in 1906.

Tamarama Beach - Sydney

Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach is the famous beach of Australia and the nearest ocean beach to the centre of Sydney, only eight kilometres distant. During the Olympic Games, a huge stadium was constructed here, for the playing of the beach volleyball competition, but then it was dismantled, as the Bondi’s people did not want it there. So another beautiful beach is Tamarama near to Bondi Beach.

Coogee Beach

Coogee beach is rapidly becoming a fashionable area. The beach is a popular swimming and body-boarding beach in Sydney. The boundaries of Coogee are formed mainly by Clovelly Road, Carrington Road and Rainbow Street.

Manly Beach - Sydney

Manly Beach

Mainly Beach is highly popular with tourists and locals alike. A popular and fashionable area, famous both for its tree-lined beach and for its food, much of which lies along the short but trendy street known as The Corso, joining the harbour and ocean sides of the peninsula. For kids Manly WaterWorks has three giant water slides and a great beach. Within a short walk of Manly Beach are Fairy Bower, one of the few large wave surfing spots in Sydney and Shelly Beach, a popular place for scuba diving.

Beaches stretch from North to South and everyone has their favourite beach. Enjoy discovering which is yours, there are many more besides Bondi Beach, Palm Beach, Manly among others. Most beaches are patrolled by voluntary surf life savers, it is essential to swim between the flags.

Cronulla Beach

Cronulla Beach is a good option as can be reached by train, its name is derived from an Aboriginal word kurranulla, meaning “place of pink seashells”. It is a patrolled beach on Bate Bay, in Cronulla.

The Cronulla Pavilion and the Cronulla Lifesaving Club are two prominent buildings located close to the sand. Cronulla Park sits behind the beach. Shark Island is a dangerous reef break, located off Cronulla Beach.
