Beijing Weather

Beijing has notable four seasons. The autumn is lovely; there are a good climate and fewer tourists. Locals call this season as “tiangao qishuang” (with clear skies and breezy days). The spring is not pleasant like autumn; it is arid, so there are a lot of wind and dust that hit the city. Summer (June to August) is blazing hot, humid and rainy; it is the peak season, the tourists amount increases highly and also the hotel rates. The temperatures reach over 40 ºC (104ºF). Winter is extreme opposite, the weather reach freezing temperatures (-20 ºC / -4 ºF) with winds and little rain and snow. There are fewer tourist activities, but hotels offer substantial discounts. It is important to visit Beijing in a season with good climate because the most tourist activities are outdoors.
